PAPHOS - President of the House of Representatives Yiannakis Omirou will be flying to Strasbourg on Tuesday to attend and address the European Parliament meeting, on the financial crisis, at the invitation of the President of the Group of Socialists and Democrats.
In statements from Paphos, Omirou said he would have the opportunity to brief the European Parliament on the reality concerning unfounded allegations against the Republic of Cyprus for money laundering.
Omirou said he would be meeting with European Parliament President Martin Schultz and political groups, and expressed hope that with these contacts "we will be able to give the right messages and the true picture, which is that the Republic of Cyprus is a member state of the EU, which faithfully implements all the laws and treaties against financial crimes."
