NICOSIA - A Cyprus-registered and foreign-owned company in Limassol has been linked to the horsemeat controversy that is raging around Europe.
Cyprus health inspectorate director Christos Christou said that no meat had either passed through Cyprus or been distributed here but that the company had been a middleman between firms in Holland and Romania. Romania has been named as a source of horsemeat that has been found in beefburgers and other foods in the UK and Europe.
