NICOSIA --An international conference on the protection of vultures takes place March 6-8 in Cyprus, with the participation of distinguished scientists from Europe and the rest of the world.
The conference is organized by the Birdlife Cyprus Association and according to a press release a total of twelve scientists will provide their specialized knowledge on issues related to the conservation of vultures and the increase of their population which is on the verge of extinction.
The conference will discuss the “Vulture Action Plan” which is co-funded by the EU and national funds from Cyprus and Greece.
Today there are only ten vultures throughout the whole of Cyprus.
