NICOSIA - Cyprus must negotiate only with the Troika, German chancellor Angela Mwerkel has told President Anastasiades.
The message came in a phone call Monday, a German government representative said.
There was a telephone conversation between Ms Merkel and the president of Cyprus last night. When contacted, Ms Merkel insisted that the negotiations (the bailout) should be done only with the Troika,” said the spokesman, without giving further information on the conversation.
Finance Minister Michalis Sarris goes to Moscow Tuesday, according to local press reports to discuss a new Russian loan for the island.
