NICOSIA - Minister of Communications and Works Efthymios Flourentzou will hold a series of contacts with European Commission members while in Brussels, as part of a delegation accompanying the President of the Republic Demetris Christofias.
According to an official announcement, Flourentzou will meet European Commission Vice President Siim Kallas, responsible for transport, Vice President Neelie Kroes, responsible for the Digital Agenda and European Commissioner Maria Damanaki, responsible for maritime affairs.

It is added that Flourentzou will discuss issues pertinent to his Ministry’s competencies in light of the forthcoming Cyprus Presidency of the European Council, due in the second semester of 2012.

Moreover, the Minister and the European Commissioners will discuss with the promotion of various Presidency priorities in the area of transport, telecommunications and maritime policy.

The delegation departs later today for Brussels.
