NICOSIA - Newly appointed chairman of the board of cash-strapped Cyprus Airways Stavros Stavrou has assured that the national carrier will draft a new viable restructuring plan.
He also said after Friday's first meeting of the new board that they will meet timetables as far the appointment of experts who will be assigned with this tough task goes.
"We start working right now and we are confident that we can comply with the schedule as set by the House," he said.
"We will not take hasty decisions under pressure of time, because we do not have the luxury to correct any mistakes we would probably make," he added.
Minister of Finance Vassos Shiarly also attended the meeting.
Stavrou also said that the law passed by the House provides that foreign experts should be appointed to undertake and develop a restructuring plan within three months.
"We start working right now and we are confident that we can comply with the schedule as set by the House," he said.
