 NICOSIA - The House Finance Committee meets Tuesday at 11am, the House Finance Committee to discuss the new law for the levy on deposits in order to meet the request of the Eurogroup to find € 5.8b. The House gathers at 6pm to debate the bill.
The Cyprus Stock Exchange council meets at 8.45 to decide whether ot not to open Tuesday.
The Eurogroup gave greater flexibility for handling the deposits levy after an emergency teleconference.
At the same time, Cyprus News Agency sources reported that the Ministry of Finance was continuing its efforts to find an appropriate and equitable formula that will find the sum of €5.8b.
On Monday, President Nikos Anastasiades had telephone contacts with heads of state and government, including Commissioner Rehn and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Banks in Cyprus will remain closed Tuesday and Wednesday the Central Bank said.
