NICOSIA - More than €20,000 was stolen in two robberies in Nicosia Monday night.
In the first robbery the owner of a money transfer office was mugged at around 8.50pm by a hooded man outside his Engomi home and €11,759 was taken in a bag he was carrying.
The thief escaped in a saloon car driven by another person.
At 10.20pm an armed man threatened the owner of a bookmakers in Onasagorou Street, Old Nicosia and escaped with €2,700.
Police enquiries continue.
