LIMASSOL - The police have expressed satisfaction at the lack of problems from Wednesday night’s cup final in Limassol.
Spokesman Andreas Angelides said that the measures they had taken had paid off and he expressed his thanks to the Cyprus Football Association, the clubs and the fans for their cooperation.
He described the arrests of two youths in Grivas Digheni Avenue in Limassol, as an isolated incident which caused no injuries or tension. A 19-year-old and a 15-year-old were held after stones were thrown at cars.
The spokesman added that 380 police officers and 120 supervisors had taken part in the security operation.
