NICOSIA - Disy leader and presidential candidate Nicos Anastasiades will reach out to the leaders of EU member states for solidarity regarding the Cyprus Problem and the financial crisis during the European People’s Party (EPP) Summit that is scheduled to take place in Limassol on Friday.
Anastasiades, who convened the meeting, said that the EPP “is the political family of the President of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, 15 EU member state leaders, 13 members of the European Commission and the largest parliamentary group within the European Parliament.”
He added that the meeting is taking place at a particularly crucial time both for the EU and Cyprus.
During the summit, the state leaders will discuss the EPP’s strategy for the upcoming 2014 elections and a profile for the presidential candidate of the next European Commission.
A second item on the agenda will be the Multiannual Financial Framework of the European Union which will set the EU budget for 2014-2020.
