 NICOSIA - Cyprus and Switzerland have signed an agreement on the import and repatriation of cultural heritage items.

The agreement aims to protect the cultural heritage of both states and to regulate the legal import of cultural goods. It defines methods of restituting cultural goods that have been illicitly imported and contains provisions relating to co-operation in the fight against the illicit transfer of cultural goods and the preservation of the cultural heritage.
According to an official press release, the two Foreign Ministers also discussed EU policy issues, the situation in Syria, Cyprus’ efforts to exploit its hydrocarbon reserves, as well as the crisis in the Eurozone.
The Cypriot Minister thanked Switzerland for its support as regards Cyprus’ efforts to reach a viable and functional solution of the Cyprus problem.
During their meeting, they also reaffirmed the excellent level of their bilateral relations.ed and questioned, leading to the arrest of a fourth aged 31.
Police are porbing offences of burglary and theft, conspiracy, theft froma bank account, forgery and possession of false documents.
