NICOSIA - Nicolas Papadopoulos resigned Thursday as vice president of Diko expressing his disagreement with the decision to support Nicos Anastasiades for the Presidency of the Republic.
He said he respected the party’s decision and would remain as an ordinary member and MP.
"When last September, the Central Committee of the Democratic Party took the decision on the upcoming Presidential Elections, I clearly stated that I disagreed with the choice, but I respect the decision and during the campaign period will act according to my conscience and dignity without causing any problem to my party, "he said.
