LARNACA - A young driver has been fined for causing a fatal accident in the Larnaca area last summer.
Eleni Mangou, 19, from Greece was fined a total of €3,800 over the accident what led to the death of motorcyclist George Kamilaris, 26, on August 20.
Larnaca court found that Mangou had no intention of driving recklessly and her defence said that the collision had been the result of a momentary lapse of judgement.
She was fined 3,000 euros for causing the crash and €800 for initially lying to police by saying that she was not driving. She changed her story as soon as she found that the young man had died.
Mangou was also bann3ed from driving for a year.
