LONDON -  A Cypriot man is suing London police saying his life was ruined when he helped MI5 and police convict airline bomb plotters.
He said his cooperation and its aftermath led to a series of incidents .
Constantinos Alexandrou, 53, says he was later wrongfully arrested twice and falsely imprisoned.
He is now suing the Metropolitan Police for aggravated damages.
Alexandrou, of Walthamstow, told Central London County Court he allowed police and MI5 to use his home in 2006 to watch the bomb factory being run by the al-Qaeda-inspired plotters.
Alexandrou said officers later arrested him twice at the home they had taken over for the anti-terrorist operation.
He also told the court about a third run-in with armed police, when he feared he was going to be shot, after they stopped him while walking through a park and demanded to see identification.
His counsel said he and his partner moved out for the operation and that this led to a split because she had not wanted to leave.
In July 2010, Ibrahim Savant, 28, Arafat Khan, 28, and Waheed Zaman, 25, (pictured) were found guilty at Woolwich Crown Court and sentenced to life in prison for conspiracy to murder. They must serve a minimum of 20 years in prison before being eligible for release.
