LIMASSOL - A 35-year-old female relative of kidnapped Limassol baby Stavros Stylli has been arrested and remanded in custody in connection with the case.
She appeared in court Thursday.
The kidnapping took place last Friday from the child’s grandparents’ home in Ypsonas. The 18-month-old boy was found abandoned outside a cemetery later in the day.
Before yesterday’s arrest the boy’s father revealed that little Stavros had been hospitalised in November after his food was contaminated with foreign objects and medicines. This resulted in the baby going into a coma. Another attempt was made later to adulterate the child’s food.
The arrest came after police found traces of the baby’s DNA in the car belonging to the relative.
