NICOSIA - No extension has been granted in the renewal of road tax licences, Minister of Communications, Efthimios Flourentzos said Tuesday.
It was reported that police had announced that an extension had been granted until Thursday but the minister said that what had been called for was a short grace period without prosecutions taking place and without collapsing the renewal system.
The extension ran out Tuesday and on Monday, said the minister, 20,000 renewals were made, leaving 180,000 vehicles untaxed.
