NICOSIA – A Kurdish man was being sought by police Thursday on suspicion of stabbing a 39-year-old woman in a shop in Old Nicosia.
According to police spokesman Andreas Angelides the attack occurred at around 3.30pm in the Georgian victim’s workplace in Ledra Street.
A police spokesman said: “We are aware that he is acquainted with the victim but we do not yet have a motive for the stabbing.”
He added that victim was admitted to Nicosia General Hospital for emergency surgery.
