 PAPHOS - A 39-year-old Larnaca man has been remanded in custody for eight days by Paphos court in relation to the murder of a taxi driver in August 2003.
Charalambos Pericles, 48, from Salamiou, was found dead on a rural road near Tsada, with multiple gunshot wounds to the head, left shoulder and hand.
At the time police found a revolver hidden in a nearby vineyard which ballistic tests found was used in the killing.
The man remanded Tuesday had been arrested for other cases when it was found that his genetic material was on the revolver along with that of two other people.
He denies any involvement in the case.
Police have contacted Interpol, to trace a woman who has left the island with who the suspect had been associated in the past.
Two premises in the free Famagusta and Larnaca area will be searched and nearly 50 statements.
