NICOSIA - The Special Adviser to the UN Secretary General on Cyprus, Alexander Downer, met President Anastasiades Tuesday morning and afterwards said that he would proceed with preparatory work and return to Cyprus in April.
Downer said that he had assured the President that the UN would provide any information he needed for the negotiating process.
Downer will be in New York next week, where we will see the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, members of the Security Council, other UN personalities and will also meet with the governments of Greece and Turkey.
Work towards solving the overriding problem of the economy would give the UN time to prepare for the restart of the unification talks.
