NICOSIA - Disy deputy president and acting leader Averof Neophytou said Wednesday that Cyprus only has a few hours to find a solution to stave off bankruptcy.
“I am confident that the country and political leadership will do their best to save the country from bankruptcy.”
Speaking to reporters at the presidential palace he said: “We will not sleep tonight, we will find a solution. None of us has the right not to find a solution.”
He said Cyprus does not have days or week, just a few hours.
“We will not be that cursed generation of politicians that will let the country default. We will not waste the next generation.”
The times were difficult but he was optimistic that the political leadership will rise to the occasion and fulfill the historic responsibility to save this country.
