Cyprus bank operations in Greece have been sold “under the most favourable conditions” the Presidential Palace said Friday.
The statement said that President Anastasiades had spoken to Prime Minister Samaras during which they confirmed the divestment of the Greek branches of the Cypriot banks “under the most favourable conditions with significant benefits for the Cyprus side.
The President thanked Greece for their support at this difficult time and wished to inform the people of Cyprus the the two countries had been working closely since the Euro meeting of March 15 to conclude the issue of the branches of the Cypriot banks.
“The actual events are the best possible answer in the most categorical way to the various rumours and information that the Greek government has demonstrated neutrality and indifference to Cyprus. Through this period Greek support has been a given and for this the president expressed his gratitude.
