NICOSIA: Cypriot passport holders should be able to travel to the USA without a visa within the coming two years, Foreign Minister Marcos Kyprianou said today.
Commenting on Greece’s recently coming to the same agreement with the USA, Kyprianou said that the necessary procedures for Cyprus to follow suit were already under way and moving fast.
“Cyrus is in the final stages but unfortunately there are delays because of problems with the process of tenders for the biometric passports. Cyprus is in the final stages of issuing biometric passports,” he said.
He also said that Cyrus would have to enter into a number of other agreements with the USA and that relevant security checks would be carried out before passports were issued.
