Saturday, May 12
Popular Cypriot actor and director Loris Loizides returns with a Greek-language adaptation of ‘Shear Madness’, one of the longest-running non-musical plays in the world, created by the American authors Marilyn Abrams and Bruce Jordan.
This version of the play is set in a unisex hair salon in Nicosia. The characters include a flamboyant hairdresser and his flirty yet ditsy assistant, along with a prim and proper uptight older lady and an older man. A famous pianist is murdered and the audience gets involved in the action by questioning the actors and attempting to solve the crime. Much of the dialogue is improvised by the actors, and the humour tends to revolve around topical references to current events.
It will be performed at Larnaca’s Municipal Theatre from Saturday, May 12. The curtain goes up at 8.30pm. The play will run at this venue until May 16.
Tickets are priced at €20. .
